I’m going to wander ever so slightly and talk about a report by ABC on 20 things that will be more expensive in the coming year. I’m going to give you the whole list first:

20. Movie Ticket Prices
For our purposes, we’re concerned with 1, 5, and 7. Both car prices and car insurance rates are going to go up. I have two things to say to that:
– End of the year deals are real. If you are in the market for a new car. Do it.
– Comparison rate shopping on the Internet is real. Use it.
If you are going to be making a car payment and insuring that car in 2011 at higher rates, then take every step you can to save every penny you can.
As for Number 7, health insurance, volumes are being written about that every day on the Internet. Yes, we have had health care reform, but we’ve also had mid-term elections. The fight is far from over and insurers are fighting back in every way they can to get around the new provisions.
Read the fine print and pay attention to every notice you get from your insurer. Read everyone.
Oh, and number 2? Chocolate? That’s just sick and wrong.
